HENDERSON, Nev. (KSNV) — The city of Henderson has given approval for a new 103-acre mixed-use project to create an urban community near the west end of St. Rose Parkway.

A spokesperson for Sudberry Properties says the project agreement would lead to an estimated 2,900 homes, 250 hotel rooms and about 670,000 square feet of office space.

"Henderson West will bring a variety of offerings to Henderson residents and visitors for decades to come," Mark Radelow, vice president of development at Sudberry, said in a press release. "We are excited to embark into the next phase and appreciate the continued collaboration between us and the City of Henderson."

The community will be located along both sides of St. Rose Parkway, between Bermuda Road and Bruner Avenue, adjacent to the Raiders' team headquarters.

Construction is expected to begin sometime around spring 2021. The project is expected to include a park, recreational fields, picnic and play areas and biking trails.

"Henderson West represents the next phase of our city’s growth in west Henderson, and complements the surrounding new projects," Mayor Debra March said in a statement.
